Highlights
Winter Feeding:
Cows were fed in a bale grazing system from mid-February to April at both Brookdale Farm and Johnson Farm.
Replacement heifers were fed high quality bales and supplemented with a 12% protein pellet.
Summer Grazing:
Higher than normal spring and summer precipitation increased the number of grazing days on all systems.
56 pairs grazed pastures at the Brookdale Farm
72 pairs grazed pastures at First Street Pasture
28 yearling heifers and two dry cows rotated through the pastures at Johnson Farm. Bulls were kept at Johnson Farm when not out for breeding.
